Lenovo ThinkPad T61 7658 Discounts

Daniel (Mililani, Hawaii) :
The T61 is too hot to handle. Since it was new, the laptop is too hot to put on your lap and becomes very uncomfortable to even lay your palms on it while typing. It inadvertently goes into sleep mode at the most inoportune times due to overheating. I read some of the posts on the web and they suggest cleaning the air intake. However, I doubt it was clogged when I bought it new and it ran very hot then. It is so hot, you cannot consider this a laptop as you couldn't possible keep it on your lap. Makes it very difficult to use.

HatchA115 (Can) :
The day that I got the T61, I was a little skeptical. It came with Windows Vista Business and it was very laggy and unresponsive, although the PC itself was in great condition. I took windows completely off and put Ubuntu 12.04, since all I do on this is surf the Internet and word processing. I also took the liberty of adding 2 more gigs of RAM. It literally takes about 5 seconds to boot up, I cannot tell you how fast this thing is now. 5 stars all around for a great product!

Joshua Escamilla (California) :
I wish I had known how good ThinkPads were a long time ago, so I wouldn't have bothered buying any other laptop. The trackpad and keyboard are very responsive and pleasing to the touch. While on the heavier side, this laptop is very thick and durable. The battery life is not so great--from two and a half to three hours on mine. The screen brightness is lower than on other laptops I've used, but bright enough without hurting the eyes. The hardware is perfectly supported on every Linux distro I've tried. Everything works out of the box. 5/5 pretty good\

Lenovo U310 13.3-Inch Discounts

K (Trinidad) :
I bought this laptop a few months ago despite the wifi warnings. When i recieved it the wifi did not work; HOWEVER there is a very easy and cheap solution - a usb wifi adapter. They are cheap, around 12 dollars, and work well. They make this laptop great and worth the money!

Ryan Rostad (CARPIO, ND, US) :
Opened the box started using it... Of coarse it needed the usual updates and what not... After updating the system, I realized the laptop only works on wifi in 2 rooms in my whole house. The other laptops I have run at 5 to 6 mbps this u310 1 to 2. After I ran into the problem, I looked into it and found it was a known problem, and many people have the same problem with theirs. Then to top it all off, when I call the support number, the guy on the phone tells me to just take it back and get a refund. He said I must have bought a lemon. It happens 1 out of 5 computers. This is not the first time I have bought a laptop and I was not born yesterday. I have never had so many problems with a brand new computer. JUNK!!! I will never buy a lenovo computer again.

Kathy Masaoka (Los Angeles, CA United States) :
Had consistent problem--says plugged in battery not charging. There's hundreds of posts about what to do. I've spent countless hours. Don't want to pay huge service fees. Lenovo online resources have hundreds of suggestions, the fifty I tried did not work. Check this out before you purchase. I won't buy Lenovo again.

Lenovo IdeaPad Z580 15.6-Inch Discounts

Brad Hallock (AZ) :
Just started my own business and needed an affordable laptop that was powerful enough to handle my applications. This works great and even has a 10 key on it which I need. Not sure about Windows 8 yet, but the computer works great.

Muriel Wolin "Perry Mason Fan" (Las Vegas,NV.) :
The computer is okay. I do not like the way AOL comes up. AOL on windows 7 was much, much easier to use. It was easier on windows 7 to go back.
The above is not necessarily the fault of Lenovo, but of microsoft.

Mlnana (Georgia) :
I will avoid buying any PC product that has the new operating system. Microsoft keeps messing up. VISTA was awful, 7 was better, now the new 8 op system is another disaster. Too bad it effects rating for Lenovo product.

Lenovo ThinkPad X230 (343522U) 12.5" Discounts

RubiconRider (Taxachusetts) :
We purchased three of these after having been disappointed with the s230u's lack of stylus support. these units are being used by our service managers to conduct site inspections and it's great to be able to capture a signature electronically (note the x230 does not do this without additional software (see [...]). These units feel better built than the s230u. Also note we purchased these with Windows 7 since Windows 8 was conflicting with some of our apps.

Mukul Agrawal (bedford, oh) :
The product itself is good but in case you need customer service from Lenovo, be ready to be knocked around for days or be willing to pay the price of the machine every time you send the machine for repair. The 3 year warranty does not mean much. You need accidental damage protection because they will classify everything as non-warranty - that is unless you are ready to dispute it and be willing to be without your machine for weeks.

Ben Blissett (Union City, CA USA) :
We use these regularly for healthcare industry clientele. Quick, powerful, and no Windows 8. Sturdy and a very nice touchscreen.
Unfortunately, Lenovo does NOT manufacture 9- or 12-cell batteries for these, so if you're unable to charge every 3-4 hours, you'll want to disable one core and hyper-thread in the system BIOS and use the ThinkVantage Power Manager to dim the display and operate in maximum battery mode.
We've had better experiences using a 6-cell 'slice' battery alongside the included 6-cell. Still, you'll want to count on only about 5 hours maximum of regular use between charges.

Oleg Basov "Alan Bass" (northbrook, il) :
I purchased my computer new back in the summer of 2008. This has been one of the best computers I have owned. I usually replace my computers every three years however this one works so great I see no reason to make the change. This computer gets heavy use and works like new. Its on in my household between 2-4 hours a day without a single issue. This is my 4th Lenovo, replacing my older T61, and I was thinking about a T410 and see no need. Nothing special (besides tablets) has been developed to justify a new purchase. I would highly recommend the Lenovo T400.

Ankush Sharma (california) :
I have had this laptop for more than 4 years and I love it. Over the past 8 years, I have owned 2 Dell Laptops, 1 HP, 1 Compaq and 2 Lenovos. Guess, which one is the winner. Definitely the Lenovo T400. Its an amazingly quiet machine. I bought a Lenovo 5 years ago and I was instantly a fan. I don't know their other product lines, but their Thinkpads are just amazing. The mere fact that the laptop still serves the purpose of my primary pc, should tell how great it functions. Its not an ultrabook, but extremely light. Till date there is no noise of the fan. All I have done so far to upgrade this laptop is install Windows 7 64 bit and RAM to 4 GB. I am buying a new 9 cell battery to replace the original one.
Its an amazing piece of hardware. I would recommend it to anyone with less graphic intensive pc needs and with this price point, its a really good deal.

FernGuer "Whapoosh" (lost) :
as a 2nd time buyer of a thinkpad i've got some experience with what to expect and this laptop has met all of my expectations so far. i've put it through the 1 and 3 year old test, which means it's been slapped, banged on, dropped, and cord-pulled; passing with flying colours. an upgrade from my old thinkpad in every respect, though I think I prefer the screen dimensions of my old one. it cost me about a 1/4 of what my previous one did out of the box, so i'm even more excited to get thinkpad quality and performance at a discount price.

Lenovo IdeaPad U310 43752CU 13.3-Inch Discounts

E. Markell (Rome, Italy) :
You will be VERY unhappy if you buy this machine. I see a few fake paid-for reviews here, but the fact is that the wireless performance is unacceptable. Lenovo tech support told me that the there is an antenna design flaw and there is NO TIME FRAME FOR FIXING THE PROBLEM. On it's website forum, Lenovo lied about fixing the problem on models manufactured after August 2012.

David Dudley II (Grantham, NH) :
So this computer has all the specs you could need, SSD for Windows to run in, USB 3.0 for fast transfers, super light and thin. Only issue is that the trackpad seems very touchy, I wish there was a way to separate the buttons from the pad but so far I have not figured it out. Otherwise I would recommend this to others.

WeBDucks "Jack" (Bend, OR United States) :
I have only had this computer for three weeks so it is a little early to place a definitive review on line, BUT I can say to date that it is fast, easy to use and very reliable. It is also lightweight and easy to pack for travel. The only issue I have had appears to be one with Windows and likely has nothing to do with the computer--that is a problem with configuring Windows Updates. I hope to have that resolved soon.

Lenovo ThinkPad T530 2359 - 15.6" Discounts

Suzanne Kelly (USA) :
Order came in a timely manner. Bought the computer for my son. He seems very pleased with it. It's much better than the Asus he had before. Keyboard is nice and touch pad is great, compared with the old Asus. Only had it for a week, so far, so good.

Haroldtheb (US) :
I'm a tried and true believer in the ThinkPad line of notebooks. This one does not disappoint. The wireless connection was a little flaky, but after a driver update, all was fine. I would recommend that your first stop is System Update to make sure you're using the latest drivers.

John B. Kneece Jr. (MA) :
Already had one LENOVA THINK PAD...needed to replace a very old desktop unit so I went to LENOVA again- great machine- has been very fast and easy to operate. The one I have already had is a tiny bit slower and has never had a blue screen in its life...LOVE IT
